Approximately 50% of the population will at some point develop a problem with their veins, most commonly Varicose veins. Varicose veins occur when the valves in the veins do not close properly and blood leaks back against the flow - this is called reflux!

Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat blood vessel malformations and also malformations of the lymphatic system. In adults, this treatment is used for Spider veins, Varicose veins and Haemorrhoids. A medicine is injected into the vessels, which makes them shrink.
